![]() Knowledge Management
One of the primary ways of augmenting process maturity is Reusability of Knowledge - to skim generic knowledge out of specific problems and to make knowledge easily accessible to all employees.
Tricon has institutionalized what is called the Knowledge Bank (KB).
The Knowledge Bank or KB as it is known in Tricon, is a central repository of experiential knowledge in the company. It contains standards for project plan, program spec., test plan, etc., various checklists, other project experiences, documents related to finance, HRD, travel and so on. It includes generic knowledge, experience, best practices, standards and guidelines for the full life cycle procedures, hardware and software technology, business rules and practices, customer interface, training and other generic activities. It is an HTML based system, accessible to all employees over the Intranet. Updating the KB is a mandatory part of most processes in the company, particularly those related to software development. With facilities like search by key words and on line submissions, it is a critical success factor for high-paced learning and consistent productivity. |
